News & Information
 | The first round petition drive yielded OVER 1280 SIGNATURES in roughly 20
days. For rural areas such as ours, this is PHENOMENAL!! We have
received great media coverage, and have shown TVA and surrounding communities
that we are serious about this. Congratulations on all your hard work.
Now, the REAL work begins! What really took the TVA reps by surprise was
that we -as a community - did not show up to simply say 'go away', but offered
very viable options and procedures to meeting their energy requirements
without building a new substation or running new lines. Much more detail
to follow!!! |
 | We will be sponsoring a public screening of the film "KILOWATT OURS" at
the College Grove Artsitorium. Date and time to be announced, so check
back soon. |
 | Just a note to say how incredibly PROUD I am - as you should be - of the
response this community has shown. I have never seen such community
solidarity since my 'activist' days. (Ask about the Volkswagen
sometime...) Please - Keep up the great work. Comments are
accelerating every day as more and more people in the affected communities
become aware. Remember THE DEADLINE FOR TVA COMMENT is MAY 12.
(This does not mean this is over - after that, we REALLY turn up the heat!!!)
Do remember, this is not so much a fight AGAINST TVA as it is a fight FOR your
towns and neighborhoods. Thank you all again for supporting your
communities! |
 | Do YOU have a digital camera? Do YOU get out-and-about in the
Murfreesboro/Rockvale area? YOU can become a seasoned, well-respected
photographer and possibly win a Nobel Peace Prize if you can capture pictures
of energy waste! If you see parking lot or street lights on in BROAD
DAYLIGHT, snap a picture and email it to
poweroutrage@ardeedesign.com.
If we use it, we will submit your name to the Nobel Prize Committee for
consideration. Please, help your community - reveal the waste for which
TVA wants YOU to give you land, home, happiness, and health!! (ok - we
were just kidding about that Nobel prize stuff.. but we MIGHT be able to work
in a free pizza somewhere....) |
 | Senator Lamar Alexander is the Chairman of the Senate Subcommittee on
Energy. He is also well connected with TVA. While he has no DIRECT
oversight of TVA, he can be very instrumental in saving our communities from
this very unnecessary intrusion. His contact information can be found
HERE |
 | Note - Comments have been made that the map available on this web site
(courtesy the COLLEGE GROVE COURIER) are not accurate and only show two of the
four substations. We are aware of this. The original scoping
document provided by TVA did not have the other two substations - this was an
April 11th surprise. (and we think, a diversionary tactic..) We
will update the map as soon as possible and repost - until then, the
documentation provided at the April 11th meeting in Eagleville should have all
4 substations shown. |
 | COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER MEETING!!! All people interested in volunteering to help with
the petition drive, or simply hand out flyers in your neighborhood, are
invited to attend a coordination meeting on FRIDAY APRIL 21st, 2006 at 6:30 PM at the
COLLEGE GROVE ARTSITORIUM. Directions and a map can be found
HERE. We expect the meeting to last about
1-1/2 hours, and we will be selecting different tasks for our volunteers. |
 | The new flyer to post at your business is HERE.
Feel free to print as many as you like. |
 | We are planning a rally on MAY 11th, 2006 to formalize comments to TVA.
More details to follow, but keep this date open! |

Recent Events
4/24/06 - Turnout for the community volunteer meeting was better than
expected. Over 1200 flyers and petitions were handed out to people
spreading out in their communities. Check back later for a summary and
results!
On April 11th, 2006 - TVA held an open house do discuss with local residents
to be affected by the substation construction just what they could do about it -
nothing. The event was quiet, somber, and filled with enough propaganda to
make Kim Jong IL green with envy.
While most TVA employees happily displayed faces of arrogance and 'we are
gonna do what we want - we don't care and you can't stop us' attitudes, there
were actually a small handful of helpful and understanding individuals who took
the time to discuss the issues honestly and openly.
Check back soon for comments and interviews with
those attending the fair.

History Repeating...
Seems the current trend is certainly nothing new. See
